incompetence

I have to say, I am a terrible blogger. Before I started my blog, I always had a million ideas about what to write about. Now that I have one, ideas elude me. I could write about life with Levi, random dreams that come to mind at the time, or life at any given time.

Maybe I should write about all of the above.

Ok, so here is all of the info that you all didn't ask for.

Ready?

So, Levi is a funny little dude. He is running around like crazy, never sitting still for a second unless he is sick or sleeping. I let him stand on a chair today so he could watch me make cookies. I also let him have his first cookie... he loved it. A LOT.
And recently, he has learned to say thank you--although when he says it, it sounds more like "ga gu". But it is quite cute that he can say it.. now we are working on please!

Moving on to a more serious subject, recently my family lost a very dear member of our family. Our grandmother, LaVonne, passed away after 89 years of wonderful life. We went down to El Paso for the funeral, and it was so weird being in her house. I could imagine her in her long robe preparing a 5 course breakfast for us (seriously!), I could hear the sound of her 28 clocks chiming at the different times of the hour, and I could hear her laugh and see her smile as we all told her stories.

But she wasn't there. And it was sad. And weird.

My Grandmother was a woman who always tried to teach us lessons. She taught us to sew, cook, and be good housekeepers. She was beyond a classy woman. She loved keeping a house, a garden, and making every single guest gain 10 lbs while visiting.

The biggest thing I realized while I was down there was just how much she loved all of her grandkids (she loved her son too, that's a definite given). I found an envelope that was entitled "valued correspondence" and in it there were the funniest, most random letters that we all sent her. I was seven and wrote her a letter that thanked her for christmas presents, thanksgiving dinner, and concluded with "in Jesus' name, Amen". She really did love us, including all of our nonsense.

I will always love and miss her.

Random enough post for you?
